Our yard sale is finally over and all the left over stuff has been taken away by the Vietnam Vets of America for their thrift store.

I am still finding stuff I want to get out of my house, I will just donate. I do NOT want to do another yard sale. I really do not like yard sales. I was selling stuff for a quarter (yes, most of the stuff was 25 cents!) and people still wanted to pay less. I know the economy is bad, but I was selling designer clothes for a quarter! Well, enough about that.

The next phase--close in the garage. I am just waiting for my goto guy to be available to put up a wall. I have already moved the furniture and rearranged it many times -- in my mind. I can not wait to actually move it!

At times, this has been kind of difficult because my husband shuts down when it comes to big projects. He is fully supportive of closing in the garage. He just gets totally overwhelmed when it comes to big projects. Am I overstepping my bounds by starting the process? I have been waiting for almost a year for the garage to be done. Something always came up to push it back. I really want to have the school room ready for school in September.

When I am done with the garage--the next room will be the kitchen and the dining room, then Angel's room . . . then our room . . .

Does it ever end?

FINALLY! Garage coversion started.

Finally, after a year and a half of talking about it, we have finally taken the first steps to converting our garage to a school/craft room. My mom and I took down the garage door. YIKES! It was so much easier than I thought it would be. First day of the garage sale is over and it was very successful. YIPPEE! Hopefully, I will move the school stuff that I had stored in the garage temporarily to the shed and the my friend will be available to help us enclose the garage. OK famous last words--"I don't think it will that difficult"--just one wall needs to be constructed and then an electrician to wire the room. Insulated and dry walled. God willing, we will have a school room by the end of August.

Smoothies!

I have been struggling to find a way for my kids to eat more fruit. I buy fresh fruit and they might eat a piece and then I have eat all this fruit (which I have to either eat or it goes bad.) Kind of defeats the purpose of me buying it. I have tried peanut butter on apples, various dips, frozen grapes, etc. The girls just never really got into fruit.

That is--until now. I have discovered smoothies. We have banana, frozen strawberries, and frozen blueberries that we have made into smoothies. The girls just love them. I know this may sound silly but I never really knew how to make a smoothie. Who knew that some vanilla yogurt, fruit and a little juice or milk in a blender would make such a yummy drink.

I think I am going to freeze various juices into cubes to use instead of ice and what about flavored yogurts. HMMMMM, the possibilities are endless. I think I just might become a smoothie diva.

I have been looking at Smoothie Web. They have some wonderful smoothie recipes. I can't wait to try the Rain Forest Fusion Smoothie.

Burger King--WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?

What is wrong with advertiser these days? My husband can not even watch sports with our kids without a commercial about pills for many things (enhancement-both male and female, diet, etc.), alcohol, scantily clad men and women, and lets not even talk about the commercials for horror movies.

And now Burger King has a new advertisement. It is not in our country, but, nonetheless, it is beyond tasteless. I can not even put it on the blog, I find it so offensive. To see a Fox News story about it, click here. This is the second offensive ad that they have produced--the other was a Spongebob commerical aimed at children.

I feel that we are living in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah. I normally do not boycott places of business, but I just can not, in good conscience, patronize a business that has total disregard for common decency.

To all you organizers out there--

I found a neat site to catalog all your books, movies, cd's, video games and software.

It is so simple. All you have to do is either scan in the bar code of the book with your webcam or, do like I do, type in the ISBN or Bar Code (usually found on the back cover of the book).

It took about thirty minutes to enter 76 books (and one of them I had to manually enter the information--it is a very old Scholastic book). If you would like to visit my library, it is Crazy4Books. Go take a look. As I have time, I will scan the covers of the books that do not have images and add them.
